From there, journey into the heart of the city with a visit to the Imperial Palace, the historic residence of Japan’s Imperial Family. While the inner grounds are closed to the public, you’ll enjoy views of the beautiful gardens, bridges, and surrounding moats that provide a peaceful contrast to the bustling city.

Continue on to the upscale district of Ginza, Tokyo’s premier shopping and entertainment area. Here, sleek architecture, luxury boutiques, and stylish cafés showcase the city’s modern sophistication.

Your day concludes with a visit to Meiji Shrine, a serene oasis nestled within a lush forest in the heart of Tokyo. Dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, this sacred site offers a tranquil and spiritual experience, with towering torii gates and quiet pathways that invite reflection.

Bidding farewell to Tokyo, today you will board your home for the next 13 days on the Royal Caribbean fleet favorite Navigator of the Seas®. Soak up the sun, and the scene, at the resort-style pool deck, and get in an island state of mind at the three-level The Lime and Coconut®.

Explore central Japan’s unique samurai and industrial heritage in this exciting city that celebrates monozukuri, the art of making things. That includes not only castles, robots and cars but also excellent Nagoya food such as miso katsu, an irresistible breaded deep-fried pork cutlet. Be sure to visit Nagoya Castle, a samurai fortress in a large wooded park, and the Osu Kannon temple market, where religion and commerce create a colorful mix.

At once a modern metropolis and a bastion of traditional Japanese culture, Kyoto is home to more than 1,600 Buddhist temples, 400 Shinto shrines and 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After you take the 30-minute train journey from Osaka, see the iconic red gates of Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine. Begin your day in Hong Kong with a vigorous hike — or a cable car ride, if you’re strapped for time — up to Victoria Peak for an iconic view of the city, the harbor and (if it’s clear enough) the mountains of Kowloon.
