    Discover the highlights of Tokyo on this immersive one-day tour that blends ancient tradition with modern elegance. Begin your day in Asakusa, home to the city’s oldest and most iconic temple, Senso-ji. As you pass through the dramatic Kaminarimon Gate, you’ll stroll along lively Nakamise Street, where colorful stalls offer traditional snacks, souvenirs, and a glimpse into old Tokyo’s vibrant culture.

    From there, journey into the heart of the city with a visit to the Imperial Palace, the historic residence of Japan’s Imperial Family.     Friday, February 26, 2027 - Nagoya, Japan

    Explore central Japan's unique samurai and industrial heritage in this exciting city that celebrates monozukuri, the art of making things. That includes not only castles, robots and cars but also excellent Nagoya food such as miso katsu, an irresistible breaded deep-fried pork cutlet. Be sure to visit Nagoya Castle, a samurai fortress in a large wooded park, and the Osu Kannon temple market, where religion and commerce create a colorful mix.

    At once a modern metropolis and a bastion of traditional Japanese culture, Kyoto is home to more than 1,600 Buddhist temples, 400 Shinto shrines and 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After you take the 30-minute train journey from Osaka, see the iconic red gates of Fushimi Inari-taisha shrine. Then, stroll through Nishiki Market and pick up yakitori grilled chicken for a snack, and take in a panoramic view of the city from Kyoto Tower.

    Tuesday, March 2, 2027 - Okinawa, Japan

    Soak in the splendor of the former Ryukyu Kingdom at the vermillion-red Shujiro Castle. Then, walk around the private garden of a king at the tropical Shikinaen Gardens. Finish your time here by taking in Okinawa's pristine coastline at Okuma Beach, where you can swim, snorkel or kayak in the brilliant waters of the East China Sea.

    The iconic Kaibara Bay is the highlight of Ishigaki. Take a glass-bottom boat tour through emerald-green water, and glide over multicolored coral reefs full of tropical fish. Pay your respects at the Tojin Baka Ishigaki Memorial, where intricate carving and calligraphy are dedicated to Chinese workers. Or head to historical Yaima Village, where you can learn Ryukyu crafts or catch a traditional music and dance show at House Ashibi.

    Throughout the day, there are plenty of opportunities to socialize and have fun. The lively atmosphere continues at venues such as The Lime and Coconut, where you can relax with a tropical drink and enjoy the vibrant poolside scene.

    Entertainment is a highlight of any sea day, with a variety of shows and performances available. Be sure to catch the impressive ice skating performances at Studio B, along with live music, comedy acts, and Broadway-style productions in the ship’s main theater. In the evening, you might also enjoy a movie under the stars by the pool.

About Michael Phillips

A veteran traveler and tour guide, Michael Phillips has designed and led tours the world-over and is always excited to have his groups learn and experience something new and exciting. The world is a beautiful place and each time we travel we are exposed to the wonders that await around every corner.

Michael is Senior Principal Consultant with the RBL Group. He works globally and has taught, trained, and lectured throughout the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Known for his dynamic teaching, lecturing, and group facilitation, Michael has designed and taught courses for every level of learner, from grade-schoolers through graduate students, working professionals and retirees. Prior to his consulting career, Michael was a professor at Brigham Young University. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Michael is the author or editor of more than 35 books, articles and reviews and has served on the boards of several associations and foundations. He is married to Rebecca Wright Phillips and they have three children.

If a participant needs to cancel their reservation, written notice must be provided. Cancellations within seven calendar days of booking (if not past the final payment date) will receive a full refund, excluding airfares, which follow the airline’s policy. Cancellations after the seven-day grace period incur a 50% penalty on the deposit until the final payment date, and cancellations after the final payment date are non-refundable, including for unused portions of the tour.
