Athens, Greece- Embarkation
Depart US to arrive in Athens. Welcome to Greece! Transfer to your ship from the airport. After boarding, the afternoon is yours to relax and do a bit of exploring.

Day 3: Tuesday, September 2
Mykonos, Greece
Sailing overnight on the Aegean waters of the Mediterranean Sea that Paul, Timothy, Luke, and Peter sailed, we arrive in the morning to the rocky Greek island of Mykonos. Walk from the port to the island's traditional center. Take photos of the blue domed Agios Nikolaos church, and the famous windmills. See little Venice, medieval two-story houses, and wander the island's narrow streets. you may also catch a view of the three celebrated windmills with their small triangular sails.

Day 4: Wednesday, September 3
Ephesus, Turkey
Again we sail on the Aegean Sea to the coastline of Turkey and dock in the modern port of Kusadasi. Ephesus is home to archaelological sites and ruins of the ancient world. This is the last of the seven cities of Johns' Book of Revelation known as the Apocalypse.

Day 5: Thursday, September 4
Santorini, Greece
Early in the morning we will sail into the flooded volcanic crater of Santorini and disembark on one of the Mediterranean's most spectacular islands. You can choose to tour the ancient city of Thera and see the archaelogical ruins or purchase cable car tickets to go up to Oya. Others may choose to ride a mule to the top or attempt to walk the high road. Once on top, you will be walking among the famous wihite-washed houses and blue domed church.

Day 5: Friday, September 5
Day at Sea
Enjoy a relaxing day at sea exploring the many amenities on the ship. Perhaps take in a ice skating show, or try one of the fitness classes. Today we'll have a lecture by our director, Dann Hone.

Day 7: Saturday, September 6
Sicily, Italy
Today we arrive in one of the most ancient cities--Sicily. While here you can see the Catalani Church, Palace Zanca and the largest astronomical clock in the world. You might choose to relax and visit the markets, restaurants and cultures of Sicily in Messina.

Day 8: Sunday, September 7
Naples, Italy
Begin your adventure through history at Pompeii, destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79A.D. and now one of the world's most prominent archaeological sites. Fell history almost come to life as you pass the city's landmarks, the Capitolium (Temple of Jupiter) in the shadow of Vesuvius and the Temple of Vespasian with it's white marble altar adorned by a sacrificial bull.

Disembarkation--Rome, Italy

Day 1: Monday, September 8 *Historic Rome * The Colosseum * Roman Forum * Mamertine Prison *
Depart from the cruise ship and board your bus for a full day tour of historic Rome. We start the day with a guided tour of the Colosseum which was inaugurated in AD 80. This 50,000-seat amphitheater once staged violent games of fighting gladiators and wild animals, enjoyed by all classes of Roman society. Our exploration continues with a visit to the nearby Roman Forum. We will tour around this unrivalled archaeological area and enjoy views of important historical sites. In the afternoon, we visit the Mamertine Prison where Paul was arrested, bound and executed. We will enjoy a group dinner before transferring to our hotel for the night.
Day 2: Tuesday, September 9 *Abasia delle Tre Fontane 8 Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls * Church of the Domine Quo Vadis (Catacombs)
After breakfast at the hotel, we board our bus for a full day inspirational journey of the early Christian Rome and experience fascinating religious sites connected to the life of the Apostles Paul and Peter. We will visit the Abasia delle Tre Fontane (Three Fountains), built on the traditional site of Paul's martyrdom. At the nearby Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, we take time to meditate on the Apostle's tomb. Next we visit the Church of Domine Quo Vadis (Catacombs), one of Rome's sixty catacombs. Finally we transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight in Rome.
Day 3: Wednesday, September 10 *Vatican Museum * Sistine Chapel * St. Peter's Church * Trevi Fountain * Pantheon * Piazza Novana
In the morning we transfer by motor coach for a guided tour of the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Church. At the Vatican, we will find the Vatican Museums founded by Pope Julius II in the early 16th Century. Here you'll find one of the world's greatest art collections. In the Sistine Chapel is one of the most significant artistic rooms, painted by Michelangelo. Our visit to St. Peter's Basilicca will take us along towering marble columns to admire the Pieta, Michelangelo's renowned sculpture. In the afternoon we take a walking tour to see the Trevi Fountain, one of Rome's greatest attractions. Next, the Pantheon is not only the best preserved ancient Roman monument in the world, it is also the most copied. We'll finish the day with the Piazza Novona, a stadium built during Emperor Domitian's rule.
Day 4: Thursday, September 11 * LDS Rome Temple * Day at Your Leisure *
For those who choose, we will take the opportunity to visit the LDS Rome Italy Temple in the morning. The Rome temple was the 13th temple built on the continent of Europe and the first built in Italy. The time in the afternoon and evening is yours to explore more of the Eternal City on your own. Dinner and overnight will be at our hotel.
Day 5-6: Friday and Saturday, September 12-13 * Leonardo da Vinci International Airport * USA
Today we say "arrivederci!" to Rome as we head to the Leonardo da Vinci Airport for our flight to the USA, expecting to arrive the next day, depending on your flight.
