Welcome to Italy! Upon arrival at the Rome Airport, you’ll meet your local guide and transfer by private coach to our hotel. This afternoon, enjoy a guided walking tour of Rome, including the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain—the perfect way to begin our European adventure. Welcome dinner and get to know your fellow travelers as you prepare for the days ahead.
After breakfast, travel to the newest temple in Europe, dedicated in 2019. You will have time to attend a session, spend time at the Visitor’s Center before returning to the hotel. Free time for lunch. Continue exploring the city with a guided tour of ancient Rome, including entrance to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum—monuments that tell the story of an empire that shaped the world. Dinner this evening is on your own to explore Rome’s incredible dining scene.
Begin your day with a hearty breakfast before stepping into the heart of Vatican City, the world’s smallest independent state and home to some of the most celebrated masterpieces of art and faith. Enjoy a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, where centuries of artistic genius come to life through galleries of sculptures, tapestries, and Renaissance treasures. Continue to the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo’s breathtaking masterpiece, where every inch of the ceiling tells a story of divine inspiration. Our visit concludes inside St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the most magnificent churches in the world, housing Michelangelo’s Pietà and Bernini’s glorious altar canopy. After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Paris, the enchanting City of Light. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and begin exploring some of the city’s most treasured landmarks, including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the exquisite Sainte-Chapelle, famous for its magnificent stained-glass windows. This evening, experience the magic of Paris by night with a Seine River dinner cruise, gliding past the city’s illuminated bridges and monuments. Savor a delicious meal while taking in unforgettable views of the Eiffel Tower and Paris’s sparkling skyline, a perfect introduction to this romantic capital.
After breakfast, enjoy a full-day guided tour of Paris, discovering the timeless elegance and grandeur of France’s capital. Begin at the world-renowned Louvre Museum, home to thousands of masterpieces including Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa and the Venus de Milo. Continue along the Champs-Élysées, one of the most famous avenues in the world, and admire the majestic Eiffel Tower, the city’s beloved symbol. Begin the day with a visit to the Paris France Temple, a serene and inspiring sanctuary nestled in Le Chesnay. Take time to admire its peaceful surroundings and beautifully landscaped grounds, offering a moment of reflection and tranquility. Continue to Versailles for a guided tour of the Palace of Versailles, the opulent residence of Louis XIV and a masterpiece of French Baroque architecture. Explore the dazzling Hall of Mirrors, the royal apartments, and the palace’s magnificent gardens, adorned with fountains, sculptures, and manicured lawns that once hosted grand royal festivities. Return to Paris in the evening for leisure time and dinner on your own, perhaps enjoying a quiet meal at a neighborhood café or a stroll through the city’s beautifully lit boulevards.
After breakfast, transfer to Gare du Nord train station and board the Eurostar for a comfortable, high-speed journey through the English Channel to London, the vibrant capital of the United Kingdom. Upon arrival, meet your local guide for a panoramic sightseeing tour showcasing London’s most iconic landmarks. See Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, and Buckingham Palace, with photo stops at Trafalgar Square and the majestic Tower Bridge. Enjoy a guided visit inside Westminster Abbey, the city’s magnificent Gothic cathedral and site of royal weddings and coronations. Later, check into your hotel and take the evening to relax or explore London at your own pace, perhaps stroll along the Thames, enjoy a local pub meal, or take in the city’s lively atmosphere by night.
Enjoy a scenic drive through the English countryside to the historic university town of Oxford, known for its elegant architecture and centuries of academic tradition. See highlights such as Christ Church College, Radcliffe Camera, and the Bodleian Library during a guided tour, with time to stroll the quaint streets or enjoy a cup of tea before returning to London. Evening at leisure.
Explore the Vatican Museums, home to Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel and the Raphael Rooms. In the afternoon, enjoy free time or opt for a visit to the Borghese Gallery to admire the works of Bernini.

About Mick & Diane Smith
Mick and Diane Smith recently returned as mission leaders from the Arizona Scottsdale/Flagstaff missions (Oct. 2020-June 2023). He retired from Seminary and Institutes after a 31-year career teaching in Idaho, Texas, Nebraska, and Utah. The last two years of his career were spent in the Ancient Scripture Department of Religion as a Visiting Teacher. He and Diane directed and spoke at EFYs for over 18 years, and he has spoken at Education Week, Know Your Religion, and the Sperry (Come Follow Me) Symposium. They previously led Church History tours for BYU Travel Study which developed an even deeper love for the Church History sites. They are currently serving in branch leadership at the MTC in Provo, Utah.
Mick and Diane love to travel. Diane especially loves the people, cultures, and history of the sites they visit, and as an avid genealogist, loves to find any family information as they travel across the country and world. They will have visited all 50 states once they visit Oregon within this coming year. They have greatly appreciated the beauty and grandeur of national parks and historic places across the United States. Mick is a passionate sports fan for anything BYU, and he loves to read, write, and teach. They love their family, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and visiting temples and historic sites, as all of those are so intertwined. They are the parents of 7 children and 33 grandchildren.

If a participant needs to cancel their reservation, written notice must be provided. Cancellations within seven calendar days of booking (if not past the final payment date) will receive a full refund, excluding airfares, which follow the airline’s policy. Cancellations after the seven-day grace period incur a 50% penalty on the deposit until the final payment date, and cancellations after the final payment date are non-refundable, including for unused portions of the tour.
Most tour and cruise packages are sold as “Land Only”. This allows you the freedom to purchase tickets on your preferred airline and from your home city. We may offer group flights depending on the tour.
Yes! Once the frequent flyer reservations have been confirmed and ticketed by the airline, please provide a copy of the itinerary to us to ensure that proper transfer arrangements are made. We regret that we cannot assist with making frequent flyer reservations.
Yes! If you want to save some money, this is the ideal option. All reservations paid for by check or cash will receive a discount. The amount varies by tour and will be listed on the web-site.
Yes! If you are a Deseret Book Platinum Club member an additional discount may be available. There may be Expo discounts or other promotional discounts offered from time to time. However, only one discount per person will apply with the exception of the cash discount. Please call for details.
Because unforeseen circumstances may arise, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. This insurance will cover you in case you need to cancel a tour after final payment has been made. Certain restrictions apply.
Some tours do include gratuities for the local guides and bus drivers and others do not. Please refer to the “What is Included” section for your specific trip to find out.
Please note that many of these tours require that participants be in good physical and mental health. You must be capable, without assistance, of walking a minimum of one mile over uneven terrain and of climbing stairs that may not have handrails. Participants should have sufficient stamina to keep pace with an active group of travelers on long days of touring. Anyone with disabilities should have a travel companion who is willing and capable of assisting. Please let us know if you fall into this category.
In order for the enjoyment of all tour participants, we generally request that children be a minimum of 8 years old to participate on the tour. Parents should be advised that they may be the only youth on the tour. Some tours may be designed with family travel in mind and will be advertised as such. Please contact us if you have any questions.
All U.S. citizens are required to have a current passport valid for six months beyond the return date if the trip is international. In some cases a visa may also be required. For tours wholly within the United States a valid Drivers License is acceptable documentation.
Please remember that your first and last name on your ticket must match your passport or drivers license. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please call our office for assistance.
The final payment for an international tour is due 90 days prior to departure and for domestic tours it is due 60 days prior to departure. Full payment is required for new reservations received within the final payment period.
Per person cancellation fees are based on the date we receive notice from you.
For tours in the United States:
- Cancellations within 7 days of booking (if not within final payment date): full deposit refunded.
- Cancellations after the grace period ends to 91 days prior to departure: $125 will be refunded (50% of tour deposit)
- Cancellations from 90 to 61 days prior to departure: no refund of deposit
- Full payment due: 60 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations made 59 days or less prior to departure: no refund.
- Cancellations made on the day of departure: no refund
- Cancellation by Morris Murdock Escorted Tours: full refund.
- No refund for unused portions of the tour, including but not limited to, missed meals, hotel nights, and sightseeing.
For all other tours including international tours and cruises:
- Cancellations within 7 days of booking (if not within final payment date): full deposit refunded.
- Cancellations after the grace period ends to 91 days prior to departure: $250 refund (50% of tour deposit)
- Full payment due: 90 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations made 89 days or less prior to departure: no refund
- Cancellations made on the day of departure: no refund
- Cancellation by Morris Murdock Escorted Tours: full refund.
- No refund for unused portions of the tour, including but not limited to, missed meals, hotel nights, and sightseeing.
Will I receive a refund?
The refund amount, if any, will be paid according to the cancellation schedule listed above. We highly recommend travel insurance.
Since each tour is different, please refer to the individual tour recommendations on the web-site. Generally speaking, you will want to pack comfortable walking shoes, slacks and shirts that can be easily layered should there be a change in temperature. Be sure pack an extra change of clothing, camera and prescription medicines in your carry on bag.
Carry-on: Most airlines permit each passenger to take one carry-on bag, total dimensions (22″+ 14″+ 9″) of which must not exceed 45 inches and which cannot weigh more than 22 lbs., and one additional personal carry-on item, such as a purse or briefcase/laptop case; all carry-on items must fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment.
Checked: Please check with your airline to confirm the current luggage limitations and any applicable fees. Most carriers charge a fee for any checked bags, with a discount if this is done ahead of time online.
Overweight: Please note that many airlines charge significant fees for overweight or oversized luggage. Be sure that all baggage and personal belongings are properly insured. Items such as medications, jewelry, or other valuables, breakable or perishable items, and important documents should be hand-carried. Responsibility will not be assumed by the airline for loss of or damage to these items.
