Days 1 and 2: Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, 2025
Depart USA to Edinburgh, Scotland
Today we will depart our home cities and fly overnight to Scotland. As we arrive at Edinburgh, we’ll transfer to our hotel enjoying a panoramic tour of Scotland’s historic capital city including the World Heritage Sites of the medieval “Old Town” and Georgian “New Town”. We start our adventure tonight as we’ll enjoy an evening of traditional Scottish entertainment which includes a 3-course dinner. Overnight in Edinburgh for 2 nights.

Day 3: Monday, April 7, 2025
Edinburgh
Good morning, Outlander fans! Now that you’ve got your first taste of Scotland, we will start our day with a tour of Edinburgh Castle where you can see The Scottish Crown Jewels, Stone of Destiny, Royal Apartments, Great Hall, St Margaret’s Chapel, Mons Meg, and the One O’clock Gun. This afternoon, we will visit 2 Outlander filming locations. The first is Linlithgow Palace which was used to represent the infamous Wentworth Prison. Dating back to the 12th century, Linlithgow Palace was the birthplace of several Scottish monarchs, including Mary Queen of Scots. The palace was one of the principal residences of the monarchs of Scotland in the 15th and 16th centuries. Our next visit is to Blackness Castle, located not far from the village of Blackness. The castle is an impressive 15th-century fortress and was used in Outlander to represent Fort William. Tonight, dinner is on your own to go out and enjoy a fun pub experience.

Day 4: Tuesday, April 8, 2025
Falkland - Doune Castle
After breakfast, our first stop of the day is the village of Falkland which represents 1946 Inverness, where Claire and Frank stay on their second honeymoon. In Season 2, the village appears as Inverness in both the 18th and 20th centuries, and one of the palace cellars is used as an apothecary’s room. We’ll end our time in Falkland with a visit to the Palace and explore the impressive Gardens. After a lunch stop, we’ll enjoy a visit to Doune Castle, appearing in many season 1 episodes. Doune Castle is used as Castle Leoch, the seat of Clan Mackenzie. Overnight in Perthshire.

Day 5: Wednesday, April 9, 2025
Newtonmore - Faskally Forest
This morning we’ll visit the Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. Here you can delve into 18th century Scotland with a living insight into the life of Highland people as portrayed in Outlander. You will recognize this location from Season 1 as Continuing North. Our next stop is the historic Culloden Battlefield. At the end of season 2 we heard the sounds of the Battle of Culloden pounding in the background as Jamie said goodbye to Claire. Back in the 1960s Claire visited the battle site, sitting at the gravestone marking the mass grave of Clan Fraser. The last stop of the day is Faskally Forest. One of the locations from season 4, Faskally Forest which was used for some of the scenes involving the Native Americans. It has a diverse range of tree types and is known for its displays of vibrant colors in the autumn/fall months. Overnight in Inverness.

Day 6: Thursday, April 10, 2025
Strathpeffer - Beauly - Whisky Distillery
Today we will visit the romantic towns of Strathpeffer & Beauly where clans MacKenzie and Fraser of the Highlands once lived. Strathpeffer is a charming Victorian spa village, famous for its healing waters and home to a 6th Century carved stone known as the Eagle Stone. As we continue towards Beauly, we can explore Beauly Priory where Claire met the seer, and according to the novels, where the Lovat Frasers are buried. Our final stop of the day is a whisky distillery where we will learn the whisky-making process and of course, taste a wee dram or two, or maybe a nonalcoholic beverage if you choose.

Day 7: Friday, April 11, 2025
Loch Ness - Caledonian Canal
Today we travel South to enjoy a visit to Urquhart Castle, one of the largest castles in Scotland which fell into decay after 1689 and was then blown up in 1692 to prevent it being occupied by Jacobites. Most of the existing remains date from the 16th century and include a tower. Here we will get fabulous views of Loch Ness and you can take an exciting boat cruise on the Loch in search of Nessie. The rest of the afternoon will be spent also on the water, enjoying the journey along the Caledonian Canal and Great Glen as Claire and Jamie did after their wedding, and admiring the dramatic scenery and impressive wildlife along the way.

Day 8: Saturday, April 12, 2025
Glencoe - Pollok House & Country Park
Today we continue south and drive through the dramatic and historic Glencoe, the most famous Scottish glen which features in the opening credits of Outlander Season 1, with its dramatic mountains and vast lochs. Its steep-sided mountains offer superb walking, climbing, and wildlife spotting. You can visit the eco-friendly visitor center, which houses fascinating exhibits about the area. This afternoon, we’ll have our final Outlander visit to Pollok House & Park which is featured throughout the series. It doubles as the grounds surrounding the fictional Castle Leoch in Season 1 and stands in for the French countryside that the characters travel through between Le Havre and Paris in Season 2.

Today we enjoy a final breakfast in the hotel and some time at your leisure to explore city of Glasgow before it’s time to head back to the airport for our flight home, with new friends and memories to last a lifetime.
