Egypt is a land of mysteries.  More questions than answers.  A place shrouded in legends, folk lore and mystic relics of 4,000 years in the past.  A visit to Egypt today is a throwback of life on the Nile so long ago.

Sailing 3,000 feet over the “Valley of the Kings” is almost a sacred experience.  Voices are low.  The only sound is the release of hot air into the canopy overhead.  This is the cradle of civilization.  The birthplace of mathematics, astronomy, the afterlife and so much more.

Up here, where no birds fly, you do feel closer to the Gods, which, was the hope and dream of every king and pharaoh of Egypt.

There are tombs, mummies and hieroglyphs everywhere, but for me its not about temples its about the lasting friendships made on a trip such as this.  Its about the peaceful, tranquil waters of the Nile as your longboat heads to Edfu.  It’s the smiles on the Nubian children’s faces as you buy a trinket or two.  Its the lasting impression of first seeing Abul Simbel in all of its grandeur.
