    Our Italian adventure begins as we depart our US home cities on Monday to arrive in beautiful Florence, the cradle of the Renaissance. After arrival we'll have time to relax from our journey and soak in our first impressions of this remarkable city. This evening we'll gather for a wonderful Welcome Dinner where we'll get acquainted, celebrate the beginning of our journey together, and enjoy our first taste of authentic Tuscan hospitality. If time allows, we'll finish the evening with a leisurely stroll through Florence's beautifully illuminated historic center.

    Wednesday, September 22, 2027: Historic Florence Half Day Tour – Free Afternoon – Opt Cooking Class

    Today, we’ll discover why Florence is considered one of the world’s greatest artistic treasures. With our local guide leading the way, we’ll walk through centuries of history as magnificent churches, elegant piazzas, and Renaissance masterpieces surround us at every turn. Along the way, we’ll admire the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with Brunelleschi’s famous dome, Giotto’s Bell Tower, the Baptistery’s legendary “Doors of Paradise,” Piazza della Signoria, the Ponte Vecchio, and Santa Croce Church.

    This afternoon is yours to enjoy Florence at your own pace. Visit the Accademia to see Michelangelo’s David, spend hours exploring the treasures of the Uffizi Gallery, or simply wander the charming streets and riverside, stopping to shop, sip a cappuccino, and sample delicious local specialties. This evening, those who would like to join us may take part in an optional cooking class, where we’ll make our own pasta and enjoy it together for dinner.

    This morning we'll venture into the beautiful Tuscan countryside toward one of Italy's most recognizable landmarks, the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa. Standing in the remarkable Piazza dei Miracoli, we'll admire the famous tower along with the magnificent cathedral that has welcomed visitors for centuries.

    Later we'll continue to charming Lucca, one of Tuscany's best-preserved medieval cities. We'll stroll its cobblestone streets, browse delightful shops, and enjoy walking atop the impressive Renaissance walls that completely encircle the city while taking in wonderful views of the surrounding countryside.

    Friday, September 24, 2027: Siena & the Heart of Tuscany

    Today's journey showcases everything we love about Tuscany. Rolling vineyards, ancient olive groves, cypress-lined roads, and picturesque hill towns create one breathtaking scene after another as we travel through one of Italy's most beautiful regions. Our destination is Siena, one of Italy's best-preserved medieval cities. During our guided tour we'll explore the magnificent Piazza del Campo, home to the famous Palio horse race, admire the impressive Siena Cathedral, and wander narrow streets that have changed little over the centuries. This is Tuscany at its very best.

    Saturday, September 25, 2027: Journey to Rome

    This morning we say "Arrivederci" to Tuscany as we travel south through the spectacular landscapes of central Italy toward Rome. Along the way we'll enjoy scenic stops through the beautiful countryside before arriving in the Eternal City. After checking into our hotel, we'll take an orientation walk through our neighborhood, getting our first glimpse of the city that has captivated travelers for more than two thousand years.

    Sunday, September 26, 2027 - Ancient Rome Comes Alive

    Today history comes alive as we step into the heart of the Roman Empire. With our expert guide, we'll visit the legendary Colosseum where gladiators once battled before thousands of spectators and explore the fascinating ruins of the Roman Forum, once the political and social center of the ancient world. We'll also admire the Arch of Constantine, Capitoline Hill, Piazza Venezia, the magnificent Pantheon, lively Piazza Navona, and toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain ensuring, according to tradition, that one day we'll return to Rome.

    Monday, September 27, 2027: Vatican City Half Day Tour - Opt Rome Italy Temple

    Today we celebrate faith as we explore Vatican City with our local guide, visiting the Vatican Museums, marveling at Michelangelo's breathtaking Sistine Chapel, and stepping inside magnificent St. Peter's Basilica before concluding in the grandeur of St. Peter's Square. Those who’d like will be shown the day to climb to the top of St Peters for a sweeping few of the city. This afternoon is yours to choose. There will be an optional afternoon transfer to the LDS Rome Temple or you can spend the balance of your day gathering the last of your Roman Souvenirs or enjoying quiet time in a local Piazza, savoring the fall afternoon.

    After breakfast we'll transfer to the airport for our journey home.
