Day 1: July 1, 2017

Home Cities - Lima, Peru

USA to Lima This morning will be depart in the morning and fly all day and arrive into Lima late in the evening. After clearing customs we will transfer to the hotel in Lima for the night.

Day 2: July 2, 2017

Lima - Cusco

After breakfast we will board an early morning flight to Cuzco- the ancient capital of the Incas.  We will travel to the Sacred valley of the Incas and visit “Temple of the Sun” Coricancha and the “Red Fortress” at Puka Pukara with its many rooms, walls and towers. Next we ill explore the mighty Sacsayhuaman Fortress.  You will be amazed at its stone work construction and size!  Tonight we will overnight in Urubamba Valley.

Day 3: July 3, 2017

Cuzco, Peru

Early in the morning we will visit Pisac Market where you can meet the locals who are selling their handicrafts, fresh fruits and vegetables.  You will find beautiful Alpaca textiles, paintings, carvings, jewelry and musical instruments.   We will then visit Ollantaytambo.  After lunch we will continue on and take the scenic rail ride through the countryside to Aguas Calientes.  Here you will see meandering rivers, towering mountains and a glimpse of the ancient Inka Trail which still attracts hikers every day.  We will spend the night outside of Machu Picchu for the evening.  (B/L)

Day 4: July 4, 2017

Machu Picchu - Cusco

Today early in the morning we will take the 30-minute bus shuttle to Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas”.  Discovered by Hiram Bingham in 1911 it is easy to see why it is now one of the NEW Seven Wonders of the World!  We will enjoy lunch at the Belmont Sanctuary Lodge and then transfer to the train station were we will begin our journey back to Cusco for the evening. Day 5: July 5, 2017

Cuzco - Lima

This morning we will return to Lima.   Today we will visit the Main Square where Lima was founded as “The City of the Kings” in 1535. We will see many areas of this Colonial City including the Cathedral and networks of catacombs at Saint Francis’ church. We will have free time in the afternoon to attend an optional session at the Lima Peru Temple.  In the evening you may wish to visit the local handicraft market for last minute souvenirs.   The evening is free to enjoy as we will overnight om Lima. Day 6: July 6, 2017

Lima, Peru - Santiago, Chile

Today you will fly from Lima to Santiago, Chile. Welcome to Chile - the longest country in the World! Chile may not be big, but it is country with great diversity! The Atacama Desert is the driest spot on Earth and in Patagonia you are practically at the end of the world! In the afternoon we will begin our tour of Chile's capital with a drive through the main business district of Providence on our way to the city center. On arrival we first visit La Moneda, the Presidential Palace, seat of power and ceremonial center of the city. We can walk through the impressive buildings exterior sections, which often house art or other exhibitions relating to aspects of Chilean life. From there it is a short ride to the Main Square or Plaza de Armas. Nearby we will visit the Pre-Columbian Museum. We leave the downtown area to drive to Cerro San Cristobal, which overlooks the entire city. From there we enjoy a view of the vast majority of Santiago, before returning to the hotel. (B)

Day 7: July 7, 2017

Vina Del Mar and Valparaiso

After breakfast we will travel through the countryside past quaint villages and vineyards to the coastal cities of Viña del Mar & Valparaíso. Much like San Francisco, these areas are built on hills painted with colors. We will enjoy lunch at a traditional restaurant overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We will overnight in Viña del Mar for Check-in at Marina del Rey Hotel. Evening is at your leisure. (B/L)

Day 8: July 8, 2017

Santiago, Chile

This morning we will enjoy an (optional) day of attendance at the Santiago de Chile LDS Temple. The Santiago Temple was dedicated on Sept.15,1983 and rededicated on Mar. 12, 2006. It is the 24th operating temple,the first temple in Chile and the first Spanish speaking temple. Situated in Santiago's Providencia district, the site of the Santiago Chile Temple is known locally as "Temple Square.".On the return from the temple, we will visit the handicraft market at Los Dominicos. For those who do not want to visit the Temple there are handicraft markets, museums and other sites to enjoy in Santiago. Your evening is at leisure. Overnight in Santiago. (B)

Day 9: July 9, 2016

Isla Negra

After breakfast we will return to the coast and visit the beach town of Isla Negra and tour Casa de Isla Negra, the House and museum of Chilean Poet Pablo Neruda. Neruda won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1971. Neruda, a lover of the sea and all things maritime, built the home to resemble a ship with low ceilings, creaking wood floors, and narrow passageways. A passionate collector, every room has a different collection of bottles, ship figureheads, maps, ships in bottles, and an impressive array of shells, which are located in their own "Under the Sea" room. Neruda and his wife Matilda are both buried here, with a clear view of their beach. Afterwards, we will continue to the traditional quaint town of Pomaire, to enjoy the blooming pottery industry and local handicrafts of this small community. Lunch is included at a local restaurant. We will return in the late afternoon to Santiago. The evening is at your leisure. Overnight in Santiago. (B/L)

Santiago - Home Cities

Today is a free day in Santiago until our late night return flight to the USA. You may wish to revisit some of the sites of the city or do last minute shopping at the Santa Lucia handicraft market.(B)

Santiago - Rapa Nui (Easter Island)

This morning you will depart Santiago for a 5 hour flight to the Polynesian island of Rapa Nui - the most remote island in the world! Discovered by Dutch explorers on Easter Sunday the island has been known as Easter Island. Overnight in Hanga Roa.

After breakfast,enjoy a half-day tour of Orongo village, overlooking Rano Kau volcano, whose crater is filled with a freshwater lake.

Easter Island

Today you will have a Full-day tour along the Moai route. Visit Vaihu with its enormous fallen statues, the ruins of Akahanga, the Rano Raraku volcano and the spectacular crater in Poike, where you will see the Moai in different stages of construction. Continue to Anakena for some beach time. Late afternoon return to your hotel. During the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner/show. Overnight at Hotel Taha-Tai.(B/L/D)

Easter Island, Chile - Home Cities

Your last day in Rapa Nui you will enjoy a half-day tour visiting Ahu Akivi, the big platform composed of seven moai all facing the sea. Continue with a visit to the Ana Pepahu caverns, the quarry of Puna Pau and Ahu Tahai. You will then transfer to Mataveri airport. Flight to Santiago and return flight to the USA. (B)
