Day 1: July 17, 2017

Departure City/Kansas City/Independence/Liberty

Depart this morning for Kansas City. Upon arrival we will drive to Independence to visit the LDS visitors center and temple lot--the site where the first temple was commanded to be built in this dispensation. Following dinner we will travel to Liberty to visit the jail and visitors center. It was here during the winter of 1838-39 that the Prophet Joseph Smith was imprisoned. During his incarceration, he received Doctrine and Covenants, Sections 121-123. Overnight at the Hampton Inn in Kansas City. (D)

Day 2: July 18, 2017

Richmond/Far West/Adam-Ondi-Ahman/Nauvoo

Following an early breakfast, we will drive along the beautiful banks of the Missouri River to Richmond to see the Three Witnesses Monument. We will then continue on to Far West to see the temple site and have a picnic lunch. Our next stop is Adam-ondi-Ahman. Following dinner we will continue our scenic drive to Nauvoo. Overnight at the Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites. (B,L,D)

Day 3: July 19, 2017


Today we will begin our tour of old Nauvoo. Among our stops will be the Joseph Smith Homestead, Mansion House, gravesites of Joseph, Emma, and Hyrum, and the Red Brick Store. Next we will visit the brickyard, blacksmith shop, and the homes of Lucy Mack Smith, Heber C. Kimball, and Wilford Woodfruff. This afternoon we'll visit the LDS visitors center and walk through the statuary park dedicated to women. Following dinner we will go to the Nauvoo Country Fair. This is a favorite activity for young and young at heart. You will enjoy 20 different 1840s style games and activities hosted by family cast members dressed in period costumes. Next we will see the British Pageant "Truth Will Prevail" which tells the history of early Mormonism in the British Isles. The faith, devotion, and sacrifice of the nineteenth-century British church members helped make possible the flourishing religious community that was established in Nauvoo. Overnight at the Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites. (B,L,D)

Day 4: July 20, 2017


Today you will have free time to visit historic Nauvoo including; the Riser Tin Shop, Scovil Bakery, Browning Gun Shop, Times and Seasons Print Shop, John Taylor Home, the Seventies Hall, Brigham Young home and the Family Living Center to name a few. There will also be various performances during the day that you wont want to miss. Following dinner, we will see the Nauvoo Pageant which tells the story of early Latter-day Saint church members who, in 1839, fled to Nauvoo to escape religious persecution. Overnight at the Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites. (B,L,D)

Day 5: July 21


We will begin our day with a morning temple session at the Nauvoo Temple. There will also be an opportunity for the youth to do baptisms. (Attendance at the temple is optional and subject to the temple schedule.) This afternoon we will visit the pioneer cemetery and then depart for Carthage. Here we will tour the jail where the Prophet Joseph Smith and his brother Hyrum were martyred. This evening we'll walk the Trail of Hope and read excerpts from diaries of the Saints who joined the Mormon exodus from Nauvoo in 1846. Overnight at the Nauvoo Family Inn & Suites. (B,L,D)

Day 6: July 22, 2017

Hannibal/St. Louis

As we say our farewell to Nauvoo, we continue on to Mark Twains Hannibal on the Mississippi River where we'll take a luncheon cruise on a riverboat. Following lunch, we will drive to St. Louis for our evening flight home. (B,L)
