Day 1 and 2: Sat & Sun, June 22-23

Arusha, Tanzania

After the breakfast pick up time from the hotel 8:30am then depart to Tarangire National Park. Baobab studded Tarangire stretches southeast of Lake Manyara around the Tarangire River. It is one of the highest concentrations of wildlife of any of Tanzania’s parks.

Day 3: Monday, June 24

Lake Manyara, Tanzania

Lake Manyara National Park is visited this day. This vegetative diverse park is set beneath the dramatic western escarpment of the Rift Valley. See the amazing Baobab tree, an assortment of Ficus and Acacia trees and all the life that inhabits them. This is a birding paradise, along with all the standard East African mammals other than rhinoceros. The group enjoys a safari tour to the back-end of the park, noted for its hot springs, abundance of giraffe and African bush elephant. Don’t be surprised if you see mongoose, clip springier and the elusive rock hyrax. Lake Manyara is a soda lake and is noted for its flamingos.

Day 4: Tue, Jun 25

Ngorongoro Crater

A must see Conservation Area within this massive collapsed volcano, one of the largest calderas in the world. Ngorongoro’s grasslands, forest, swamps, salt pans, and Lake Magadi provide for an assortment of wildlife and viewing opportunity.  You will see blank rhinos, jackals, spotted hyena, lions, and their prey of wildebeest, water buffalo, and various gazelle species. Birding is good as well. The not too common Serval cat is a bonus feature.

Day 5: Wed, Jun 26

Amboseli National Park, Kenya

The safari group travels to the Tanzania/Kenya border at Namanga, then proceeds to Amboseli National Park within Kenya.On arrival check in Amboseli Sopa Lodge for Lunch,then relax in the Lodge as you await to go for the afternoon game drive which will take you all the way until 1830hrs,then return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Thur, June 27

Amboseli National Park, Kenya

On this day you will have a full day in the park,after the breakfast our driver will have organized for your picnic lunch since the whole day will be spent exploring the park and visit as far as the view point tower where you will also have your lunch outside the car.On this day you will also have an opportunity to see Mount Kilimanjaro is the backdrop of this elephant haven and you will not be disappointed by this first class safari experience. You will have no trouble in getting up close and personal with the monolithic beasts of Africa, in the safety of your pop-up canopy safari vehicle.After exploring the park return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Fri, Jun 28

Lake Naivasha, Kenya

Travel day to Lake Naivasha on your way to Masai Mara. This is an opportune time to enjoy the countryside of Kenya and all its people. Part of the trip is along the Great Rift Valley with a stop over to view the escarpment. Lake Naivasha is a major agricultural production area in Kenya and a welcomed break to the day’s travel.Upon arrival you will check in the Lodge and then walk along the lake having an opportunity for a boat ride in this calm lake,this normally takes you up o the hippo pool where you will be able to see a lot of them.Then later in the evening return to the lodge for dinner and Overnight.

Day 8: Sat, Jun 29

Lake Naivasha, Kenya

Just when you thought you may have been safaried out, then you enter the world-renowned Masai Mara, the northern extension of the equally famous Serengeti Plains. The productivity of the rolling grasslands and tree studded woodlands are to be witnessed first hand. Countless numbers of wildebeest, zebra, and water buffalo are guaranteed, even after mass migration to the Serengeti. Elephant, giraffe, warthog, lion, cheetah, hyena, jackal, the list goes on. Numerous antelope species are readably photogenic including hartebeest, topi, impala, eland, suni, bush duiker, steinbok, dikdik, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelle. Numerous lion kills make for some great vulture viewing.

Day 9: Sun, Jun 30

Masai Mara, Kenya

You will be overwhelmed and satiated by the abundance of wildlife viewed in this park. The safari takes you to the Mara River where you will see and photograph hippos and large crocodiles laying in wait.This whole day will also be one of the remarkable day in your life as you enjoy to see all the big 5 at a very close range also to be seen are Masai Ostrich, crowned crane, helmeted guinea-fowl, kori bustard and the secretary bird will have you wondering what’s next on the fascinating bird list.After exploring the park you will return to the Lodge for Dinner and overnight in the same Lodge.

Day 10: Mon, Jun 31

Nairobi, Kenya

Part of the morning will be spent visiting a local Masai village, witnessing current village life, being entertained with dance and Masai hospitality. It is a colorful event and optional for guests to attend. Arrival to Nairobi early afternoon with the drop off to the Airport or in your hotel of choice.

Entebbe, Uganda

Today is a travel day from Kenya to Uganda.  Upon arrival you'll be brought to your hotel, the Boma exclusive hotel to spend the day in this charming lakeshore town.

Post Tour, Day 12: Wed, July 3

Kihihi, Uganda

Today you will be collectedfrom your hotel and taken back to the airport for your flights to Kihihi to spend your day at the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park trekking Gorillas! 

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park lies in southwestern Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley.  Its mist-covered hillsides are blanketed by one of Uganda's oldest and most biologically diverse rainforests, which dates back over 25,000 years and contains almost 400 species of plants.  More famously, this "impenetrable forest" also protects and estimated 320 mountain gorillas - roughly half of the world's population, including several habituated groups which can be tracked.

This biologically diverse region also provides shelter to a further 120 species of mammal, including several primate species such as baboons and chimpanzees, as well as elephants and antelopes.  There are around 350 species of birds hosted in this forest, including 23 Albertine Rift endemics.

Post Tour Day 13: Thur, Jul 4

Buhoma, Uganda

From the Buhoma area, you may trek gorillas in the Buhoma region or Ruhija.

If you are trekking in Buhoma, you will meet your gorilla guides (from UWA) for the pre-trek briefing, which usually starts at 08:00.  Depending on which family you are allocated to on the day, you will either start walking from the briefing point or be transferred by vehicle to the alternative start point.  The gorilla families live in different areas of the forest.

If you are trekking in Ruhija, it is an approximately two-hour drive to get to the start point.  You will, therefore, depart early from the lodge. Note there is an additional cost for the transfer to Ruhija should permits be issued there, which will be advised at the time of booking.

Post Tour day 14: Fri, July 5

Buhoma, Uganda

Today you will be collected from your lodge and transferred back to the Kihihi Airstrip for your flight to return to Entebbe to make your international flight transfer home to the USA.
