This tour highlights the major sites of Jordan before your Holy Land experience in Israel and Palestine. After our Jordan tour, you will be transferred to our tour group hotel in Hadera, Israel, for the start of our Holy Land tour.

**Please note: due to the nature of this tour, you must be able to climb stairs and walk unassisted at a moderate pace. You will walk an average of 4-6 miles each day. The days are full of touring from breakfast to dinner time with "down time" only in the evening.

    Today, you will arrive at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport. We will meet at the airport and transfer to Netanya for dinner and overnight. (Those having chosen the Jordan Optional Pre-tour will also arrive this evening.)

    Monday, October 12, 2026 - Caesarea - Armageddon - Haifa - Mt Carmel - Sea of Galilee

    After breakfast we travel north to Caesarea Maritima archaeological site. Caesarea, a historic seaport and home to the summer palace of Herod the Great built in 22 BC and later home to Pontius Pilate. We continue north along the Mediterranean coastal plain and then pass through the low hills of Mount Carmel at Jokneam to Megiddo, the royal city of the Canaanites, fortified by Solomon as a “chariot city”. View from the Tel the Valley of Armageddon, the site of the last great battle before the Second Coming of Christ. Returning through the Megiddo pass we climb the ridge of Mount Carmel, passing Daliyat Carmel to a unique, local Druze restaurant for lunch. After lunch we continue to the Muhkraqa Monastery to view the Holy Land and Jezreel Valley and recount the stories of the prophet Elijah and the priests of Ba’al recorded in 1 Kings 18. Continuing north along the Carmel ridge we arrive at Haifa and the Haifa Observatory to view the Baha’i Gardens, which mark the world center of the Baha’i faith, and Haifa Bay. Here we will point out locations and discuss LDS dedications of the Holy Land. Going down to the Haifa Port we come to the German Templar Cemetery and burial site of early LDS converts and missionaries dating to 1888. Our final journey is through the Lower Galilee Hill Country to the Sea of Galilee and our three-night stay along the shores of the Sea of Galilee.

    Tuesday, October 13, 2026 - Mount Tabor - Nazareth - Magdala & Sea of Galilee

    After an early breakfast, we will journey across the Galilean Hills to ascend Mt. Tabor, the site of the Mt. of Transfiguration, and visit the Basilica of the Transfiguration. We proceed across the Jezreel Valley to the 1st-century reconstructed Nazareth Village. We tour the village, built as Jesus would have known it in his lifetime, and enjoy a 1st-century lunch. Following lunch, we travel through the Nazareth hills past Cana, where the first recorded miracle of Christ took place turning water to wine, and the Horns of Hittin, where the Crusaders suffered their final defeat in 1187. Our next visit is to the New Testament city of Magdala, home of Mary Magdalene. Here we will stand in a 1st Century synagogue where Jesus and his apostles stood and taught. After visiting the beautiful chapel Duc-in-Altum, we transfer to Ein Gev Holiday Resort. Here we board a fishing boat to cross the Sea of Galilee.

    Wednesday, October 14, 2026 - Galilee - Capernaum - Mt of Beatitudes - Tel Dan - Banias - Golan Heights

    Following breakfast, we travel along the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee below the Golan Heights, passing Kursi (Jesus feeds the multitudes), Bethsaida, and the northern Jordan River to Capernaum. In Capernaum, we see the synagogue where Jesus preached and nearby what is believed to be the house of Peter. Here is Primacy of Rock where the resurrected Jesus asks Peter, “Lovest thou me?”; Tabgah, the site of the multiplication of the fishes and loaves; and the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus delivered His epic “Sermon on the Mount”. We continue our journey past Chorazin, Hatzor, the Hula Valley, to the Lebanese border near Tel Dan. We will visit Banias (Caesarea Philippi) at the foot of Mt. Hermon where Peter confessed the Savior’s divinity. This day we see the northern borders of Israel with Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. Return to the resort to relax and perhaps swim in the Sea of Galilee.

    Thursday, October 15, 2026 - Galilee - Beit She'an - Shiloh - Crossing of Jordan - Jericho

    We depart the Galilee and drive south along the Jordan River to Beit She’an, inhabited more than 6,000 years ago, and later occupied by the Romans. Here the bodies of King Saul and his sons were hung by the Philistines. The spectacular remains of the Byzantine city are comparable to the magnificent ruins of Ephesus, Turkey. After touring the Roman Byzantine city, we continue south along the Jordan River Valley to Jericho. Near Jericho we visit the site recently identified as the baptismal site of Jesus on the Israeli side of the border called Qasr Al-Yahud. We visit Tel es-Sultan, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. And here we see the remains of the Walls of Jericho that came “tumbling down” during Joshua’s siege of the city.     Saturday, October 17, 2026 - BYU Jerusalem Center - Israel Museum - Dead Sea Scrolls - West Jerusalem

    For Latter-day Saints in the Holy Land, this is the Sabbath. From our hotel, we proceed to the Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies (BYU) and participate in the LDS Sacrament meeting. After church services, we depart Jerusalem Center to West Jerusalem and the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed at the Israeli Museum. Here we see a Model City of Jerusalem that is a reconstruction of the Herodian city before its destruction in 70 AD. A brief stop at the National Menorah and Israel Knesset, or Parliament building. Return to our hotel in East Jerusalem.

    Sunday, October 18, 2026 - Old City of Jerusalem - Temple Mount - Western Wall - Bethlehem

    Today we visit the four quarters of the Old City, including the Muslim, Jewish, Armenian, and Christian quarters. We visit the Temple Mount, the Western or Wailing Wall of Solomon’s Temple, and site of the Ophel Museum. We will follow the Via Dolorosa (“Way of the Cross”) and visit the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. We then travel a few miles south of Jerusalem to Bethlehem the birthplace of Jesus. We visit Manger Square, the Church of the Nativity, and Shepherd’s Fields. Optional tour this evening to Ha Kotel excavations along the length of the Western Wall.

    Monday, October 19, 2026 - Last Week of the Savior's Life - Bethany - Bethpage - Mt. of Olives - Gethsemane - Mt. Zion - Garden Tomb

    We travel to Bethany this morning to visit the tomb where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. At Bethpage, on the eastern side of the Mt. of Olives, we visit the Church of Mounting, the traditional place of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus during the “Passion Week” or the last week of the Savior’s life. After a panoramic view of Jerusalem from atop the Mt. of Olives, we visit the sacred Garden of Gethsemane to remember the Atonement and Christ’s final hours before His arrest. In the Orson Hyde Memorial Gardens, we will review the events of Gethsemane, the visit of the Apostle Orson Hyde in 1841. We visit Mt. Zion, King David’s Cenotaph Tomb, the “Upper Room” of the Last Supper, and the traditional House of Caiaphas at St. Peter en Galicantu. Our day will end at the Garden Tomb where Christ was buried and resurrected with time for instruction and personal thought and reflection

    Tuesday, October 20, 2026 - Jerusalem - with optional tours

    This morning, we have optional tours to West Jerusalem, the Yad Vashem (Museum of the Holocaust), and Mt. Hertzl. Or, for the adventurous a visit to the City of David Excavations, Hezekiah’s Water Tunnel, the Pool of Siloam, and the newly excavated tunnel to the Ophel excavations. The afternoon is free to spend as you wish. You can return to sacred sites and/or explore new ones. It’s a great day for shopping the bazaars and walking the labyrinth of alleyways and side streets throughout the Old City or visiting the “New City” with its many shops, restaurants, and boutiques along Ben Yehuda Street or the open-air market at Mahane Yehuda.     Wednesday, October 21, 2026 - Jerusalem - Emmaus - Jaffa - Airport

    Today we will have a free morning and check out of our hotel by noon. We then bid farewell to Jerusalem and travel to the ancient Emmaus (Nicopolis) before going on to Jaffa. It was from Jaffa that Jonah embarked on his fateful ocean voyage, and here Peter had his vision to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles. We will enjoy a farewell dinner together before ending at the Tel Aviv airport for our flights back home.

About Dann Hone

Dann W Hone has nearly 50 years of travel to the Near East and is one of the founding members of the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies. He held virtually every position at the Jerusalem Center, including Academic Coordinator where he was responsible for training and teaching all Jerusalem Center faculty in history, archaeology, geography, and scriptures. His studies include 13 modern and ancient languages and scripts. Dann lived in Israel for many years and received his graduate degree in Biblical History/Historical Geography from the Jerusalem University College.

A published author, Dann has written study guides and books on the Near East and recently finished two volumes of a planned eight-volume set, Scriptural Reference & Exploration Series. Dann holds emeritus status with the BYU Jerusalem Center and taught for many years as an instructor for the BYU Department of Ancient Scripture.  After thirty years at BYU, he entered back into teaching as adjunct faculty in the Department of History and Political Science at Utah Valley University. If a participant needs to cancel their reservation, written notice must be provided. Cancellations within seven calendar days of booking (if not past the final payment date) will receive a full refund, excluding airfares, which follow the airline’s policy. Cancellations after the seven-day grace period incur a 50% penalty on the deposit until the final payment date, and cancellations after the final payment date are non-refundable, including for unused portions of the tour.

Q. Are Flights Included in the Price?

Most tour and cruise packages are sold as “Land Only”. This allows you the freedom to purchase tickets on your preferred airline and from your home city. We may offer group flights depending on the tour.

Q. Can Frequent Flyer Miles be Used to Join a Tour?

Yes! Once the frequent flyer reservations have been confirmed and ticketed by the airline, please provide a copy of the itinerary to us to ensure that proper transfer arrangements are made. We regret that we cannot assist with making frequent flyer reservations.

Q. Is a Cash Discount Available?

Yes! If you want to save some money, this is the ideal option. All reservations paid for by check or cash will receive a discount. The amount varies by tour and will be listed on the web-site.

Q. Are Other Discounts Available?

Yes! If you are a Deseret Book Platinum Club member an additional discount may be available. There may be Expo discounts or other promotional discounts offered from time to time. However, only one discount per person will apply with the exception of the cash discount. Please call for details.

Q. Should I Purchase Travel Insurance?

Because unforeseen circumstances may arise, we strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance. This insurance will cover you in case you need to cancel a tour after final payment has been made. Certain restrictions apply.

Q. Is Tipping Included in the Price?

Some tours do include gratuities for the local guides and bus drivers and others do not. Please refer to the “What is Included” section for your specific trip to find out.

Q. What if I Have a Medical Condition or Physical Disability?

Please note that many of these tours require that participants be in good physical and mental health. You must be capable, without assistance, of walking a minimum of one mile over uneven terrain and of climbing stairs that may not have handrails. Participants should have sufficient stamina to keep pace with an active group of travelers on long days of touring. Anyone with disabilities should have a travel companion who is willing and capable of assisting. Please let us know if you fall into this category.

Q. Can I Bring My Children on the Tour?

In order for the enjoyment of all tour participants, we generally request that children be a minimum of 8 years old to participate on the tour. Parents should be advised that they may be the only youth on the tour. Some tours may be designed with family travel in mind and will be advertised as such. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Q. What Documentation Will be Needed?

All U.S. citizens are required to have a current passport valid for six months beyond the return date if the trip is international. In some cases a visa may also be required. For tours wholly within the United States a valid Drivers License is acceptable documentation.

Please remember that your first and last name on your ticket must match your passport or drivers license. If you are not a U.S. citizen, please call our office for assistance.

Q. When is Final Payment Due?

The final payment for an international tour is due 90 days prior to departure and for domestic tours it is due 60 days prior to departure. Full payment is required for new reservations received within the final payment period.

Q. What Happens if I Need to Cancel My Tour?

Per person cancellation fees are based on the date we receive notice from you.

For tours in the United States:

  • Cancellations within 7 days of booking (if not within final payment date): full deposit refunded.
  • Cancellations after the grace period ends to 91 days prior to departure: $125 will be refunded (50% of tour deposit)
  • Cancellations from 90 to 61 days prior to departure: no refund of deposit
  • Full payment due: 60 days prior to departure.
  • Cancellations made 59 days or less prior to departure: no refund.
  • Cancellations made on the day of departure: no refund
  • Cancellation by Morris Murdock Escorted Tours: full refund.
  • No refund for unused portions of the tour, including but not limited to, missed meals, hotel nights, and sightseeing.

For all other tours including international tours and cruises:

  • Cancellations within 7 days of booking (if not within final payment date): full deposit refunded.
  • Cancellations after the grace period ends to 91 days prior to departure: $250 refund (50% of tour deposit)
  • Full payment due: 90 days prior to departure.
  • Cancellations made 89 days or less prior to departure: no refund
  • Cancellations made on the day of departure: no refund

  • No refund for unused portions of the tour, including but not limited to, missed meals, hotel nights, and sightseeing.

Will I receive a refund?

The refund amount, if any, will be paid according to the cancellation schedule listed above. We highly recommend travel insurance.

Q. What Should I Pack?

Since each tour is different, please refer to the individual tour recommendations on the web-site. Generally speaking, you will want to pack comfortable walking shoes, slacks and shirts that can be easily layered should there be a change in temperature. Be sure pack an extra change of clothing, camera and prescription medicines in your carry on bag.

Q. How Much Luggage Can I Take?

Carry-on: Most airlines permit each passenger to take one carry-on bag, total dimensions (22"+ 14"+ 9") of which must not exceed 45 inches and which cannot weigh more than 22 lbs., and one additional personal carry-on item, such as a purse or briefcase/laptop case; all carry-on items must fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment.

Checked: Please check with your airline to confirm the current luggage limitations and any applicable fees. Most carriers charge a fee for any checked bags, with a discount if this is done ahead of time online.

Overweight: Please note that many airlines charge significant fees for overweight or oversized luggage. Be sure that all baggage and personal belongings are properly insured. Items such as medications, jewelry, or other valuables, breakable or perishable items, and important documents should be hand-carried. Responsibility will not be assumed by the airline for loss of or damage to these items.
