Today we'll depart Salt Lake City to fly to Miami and start our adventure.  We'll be transfers to our hotel and have the evening to enjoy on our own.

Day 2: Friday, Jan 18, 2019

Miami to Board the NCL Star

Today after a leisurely morning we'll be picked up at our hotel and transfers to the Port Of Miami to board our "floating resort" we get to enjoy for the next 2 weeks!

Tonight after dinner we will gather as a group and have a chance to get to know our fellow group travelers.

Cartagena, Colombia

The old walled city of Cartagena reflects a turbulent history of conquistadors and pirates. Climb "las murallas" for an unforgettable view of the harbour. Shop for emeralds and leather goods along the cobblestone streets of this enchanting city.

Tour around the city passing through the residential neighborhoods that border the bay of Cartagena. Afterwards passengers will visit San Felipe de Barajas Fortress, the most apotheosis structure of engineering made in the new world. Afterwards they will visit Historical Museum and San Pedro Claver Cloister within the wall city ending the tour with a demonstration of emerald work at the Emerald Museum.

Corinto, Nicaragua

Nicaragua's largest port, Corinto sits on an island connected to the mainland by bridges. Nicaragua is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches, and the area offers long stretches of white sand and clear blue waters. Visit the nearby city of León to see the wonderful cathedral, monuments and colonial buildings as well as the ruins of León Viejo, one of the oldest Spanish settlements in the Americas.

OPTIONAL PRIVATE GROUP EXCURSION: Leon, Nicaragua with Luch

Leon is a colonial city that stands out for its architecture jewels and its important role in Nicaragua's history.  The city was founded in 1610 and it functioned as capital of the country on multiple times after the independence in 1821, alternating the title with Granada, until Managua was declared the only and permanent capital of Nicaragua.

We will visit the Cathedral of Leon, one of the most beautiful temples of the continent and the biggest one in Central America, recently declared as a World Heritage Site. This temple is the resting place of great Nicaraguans like the poets Ruben Dario and Salomon de la Selva. From the roof of the Cathedral you will get an extraordinary panoramic view of this charming city and the Maribios volcano range.

Then we will visit Ruben Dario Museum, located in the house where the great poet lived during 14 years. Visit as well the the Sutiaba (indigenous neighborhood), the Central square Museum of Myths and Legends.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

This port city was constructed in 1984 to help connect nearby cities. Travellers often venture out to Antigua, a 90-minute trek to where 17th century colonial facades beckons and Guatemalan history comes alive.

Upon arrival you will be welcomed by your friendly and knowledgeable tour guide to board your air-conditioned transportation for the guided 90-minute country side drive through sugar and coffee plantations as we make our way to this colonial jewel known as Antigua.Have your camera ready as you'll enjoy a photo stop at Antigua's Plaza Mayor, this central park, though small, is the heart of the city.  Ride along cobblestone streets, past vibrant colonial architecture restored to host a charming city today full of churches, convents and mansions - makes it apparent why it was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979. Stop at La Merced Church, one of the most important churches in Antigua. Continue to Santa Catalina Arch, one of the distinguishable landmarks in Antigua that originally connected the Santa Catalina convent to a school, allowing the cloistered nuns to pass from one building to the other side without going out on the street.  You will also visit the popular Jade Museum and Factory. On this visit you will see displays of the best sculptures made in Jade. Discover the intricate relation between the Mayans and this precious stone. Step into the factory to see how this stone is cut and polished by Guatemalan artisans who follow the carving traditions of their ancestors. At the end you can explore the shop for exquisite jade pieces available for purchase. Lunch and folkloric show at the Hotel Posada de Don Rodrigo.

Acapulco, Mexico

As one of Mexico's oldest coastal tourist destinations, Acapulco has much to offer both tourist and traveler. Shop, swim or simply take a siesta on the beach. But be sure not to miss the legendary La Quebrada cliff divers.

When your cruise ship docks on Acapulco's port, embark on a tour that allows you to sightsee in addition to participating in a baby turtle release ceremony. The sightseeing tour hits all the Acapulco highlights, including La Quebrada to see the cliff divers, Diego Rivera's mural, and the Chapel of Peace.  You will have free time for lunch and shopping before being transported back to the ship in the afternoon.

NCL reserves the right to charge a fuel supplement without prior notice should the closing price of West Texas Intermediate Fuel increase above $65.00 per barrel on the NYMEX (New York Mercantile Exchange Index). In the event a fuel supplement is charged, NCL will have sole discretion to apply the supplementary charge to both existing and new bookings, regardless of whether such bookings have been paid in full.
